1,318 people had cast votes as of Friday in the race for Franklin Alderman, according to Chad Gray, Williamson County elections administrator.
The election is to select aldermen for Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4. Every race is contested for the first time since 2005. Early voting opened on Oct. 4 and continues through Oct. 19. Election Day is Oct. 24.
Oct. 14, is the last Saturday in this early voting period.
47,639 voters are registered an eligible to vote in the election, meaning that the voter turnout to date is 2.8%.
Ward 1: Beverly Burger, incumbent; J. Edward Campbell, and Michael Phillips. As of Friday, 241 people had voted in Ward 1.
Ward 2: Dana McLendon, incumbent; Mike Vaughn. As of Friday, 407 people had voted in Ward 2.
Ward 3: Michael J. Skinner, incumbent; and Scott Speedy. As of Friday, 359 people had voted in Ward 3.
Ward 4: Margaret Martin, incumbent; and Elizabeth Downing Wanczak. As of Friday, 257 people had voted in Ward 4.
