Wine tastings at Puckett’s support after-hours shopping in downtown Columbia

Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant in downtown Columbia will host a holiday Sip,
Swirl and Shop event on Thursday, Dec. 14, as local downtown merchants open their doors for after-hours shopping.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. in Puckett’s upstairs space with light appetizers and self-guided wine tastings, accompanied by festive tunes from local Columbia DJ, AMP.

Several “Friends of Columbia Main Street” will feature displays of their holiday favorites from local vendors during this time of mingling, including Kara Huckaby, Director of Maury County Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Maury; Dr. Christa Martin, Columbia Vice Mayor and Assistant to President
Columbia State Community College; Nancy Williams – Executive Director of Tennessee Main Street; and Jodi Wolfe, a downtown Columbia property owner and wife of the American Picker Mike Wolfe.

“It is so exciting to feature this special holiday event in the heart of downtown Columbia,” said Kristi Martin, Executive Director of Columbia Main Street. “We are thrilled to have several of our ‘Friends of Main Street’ on board to share their holiday gift ideas, and we encourage our community to join us for a memorable evening that is perfect for a ladies’ night out!”

From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests are invited to shop around the downtown Columbia square.

Several merchants will stay open late and extend special offers and incentives to shoppers.

“The Puckett’s team loves the community in Columbia and wanted to create a special experience for our friends and neighbors,” said Rachel Layton, Director of Marketing for A. Marshall Family Foods. “This event combines the best of Columbia: local shops, music, food and wine, and we can’t wait to see it come together.”

Participating retailers include Lily Jane; Ted’s; Bleu 32; Duck River Books; Ye Peddler; Itty Bitty Baby; Columbia Health Food; Mum’s the Word Flowers, Gifts and Antiques; Oak and Lace; Loblolly Antiques; Trek; Muletown Coffee; Variety Records; The Balloon Shop; Southern Exposure; Unique Korner; Pie Sensations and Elia Spa, who will each open their doors for after-hours shopping.

Tickets for the evening are $30 and include a keepsake wine glass and tastings, small bites from Puckett’s and a shopping bag. For more information and tickets, go to or
