Friday the 13th proved lucky for those who stumbled across the dog meetup in downtown Franklin along Main Street and at the visitor’s center.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., puppies were available for cuddles and kisses for a small donation. All proceeds went directly to the Williamson County Animal Shelter.
One pup at the meetup, Wendy, is paralyzed in her hind feet. But that setback didn’t stop her from happily bouncing in a wagon all afternoon.
Animal center public information coordinator Debbie Sims said the shelter had likely raised enough money to purchase Wendy a contraption that would allow her to wheel herself around.
The Williamson County Animal Center is located at 106 Claude Yates Drive in Franklin. Animals are available for adoption every day of the week. To learn more, visit adoptwac.org.
