Urgent Team health care facility set to open in site that last housed Judge Beans barbecue

A building that had formerly been home to several different restaurants in Franklin over the last 40 years is being restructured to open as a walk-in medical care facility in late November.

Urgent Team Family and Urgent Care will go into business at 509 Hillsboro Road in Independence Square, opening in a building where a Rax Roast Beef fast-food restaurant stood in the 1980s. The site was later home to Franklin’s first La Hacienda restaurant, which is now in the retail center at Hillsboro Road and Mack Hatcher Boulevard. The building has since housed a Mickey Roos, a Jack and Jameson’s and a Judge Beans, which closed late last year but still has a place in Brentwood.

With 25 Urgent Team centers in Tennessee, this will be the company’s first location in Franklin.

“We look forward to serving the community of Franklin and remain committed to providing quality, affordable and convenient medical care,” Nancy Becker, Urgent Team division vice president, said in a press release.

Urgent Team – Franklin will be open seven days a week and provide urgent care, family care, wellness services and occupational health services on a walk-in basis. The center will feature four exam rooms, one procedure room and a dedicated room for X-ray. Urgent Team will treat patients with a variety of medical needs.

The center will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Most insurance plans, TRICARE and VA, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as cash and credit cards, are accepted.

Walk-ins are welcome or for added convenience, patients can schedule a same day or next day visit online with Hold My Spot™.
