Thompson’s Station Farmer’s Market will offer family-focused night May 30

School’s out for the summer, and the Thompson’s Station Farmers Market invites families to enjoy an evening together Wednesday, May 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to its regular lineup of more than 20 local vendors, the market’s Family Night will offer plenty of kids’ activities including face painting for $5 per person, an interactive build-your-own starter plant station, and a petting zoo from Cedar Creek Farm, a regular vendor at the market.

Ashley Kirby, manager of the Thompson’s Station Farmers Market, said that this year’s later hours were intended to offer more flexibility for working parents to attend and hopes that the Family Night will draw new faces to the market and further strengthen the community-centric style of the weekly event.

“Our entire market is built around shopping small and local and highlighting the robust local farms and the brands that Thompson’s Station and the surrounding communities have to offer,” Kirby said. “We hope that families will use this opportunity to make memories together and support our area’s most talented purveyors.”

The Dotted Lime food truck, which offers a primarily organic menu and the Puckett’s Trolley, the Southern eatery’s mobile food venue, will both be onsite during the event. A cash bar will be set up with adult beverages available for purchase, as is the case at the market each week.

Since no event is complete without live music, local band the Heldman Brothers will bring their indie-folk tunes to the event, adding a final special element to Family Night.

For those wishing to dine at Harvest at Homestead Manor afterward, reservations can be made by phone at (615) 538-6113 or at www.homesteadmanor.com.
