The Summit Spartans headed into Cool Springs with the hot hand and got the best of the hosting Centennial Cougars, 28-14.

Summit scored 22 straight points and held Centennial scoreless until right before halftime.

After a scoreless third, the Spartans got ahead 28-7 and closed the door. Only a late Cougars touchdown kept it close.

Spartans running back George Odimegwu earned the spotlight, rushing for 176 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. He also had two catches for 24 yards.

Quarterback Destin Wade wasn’t far behind with 102 yards and a rushing touchdown. RB Keaton Wade scored a touchdown and hauled in a two-point conversion

For Centennial, RB Jariel Wilson got both scores rushing with 76 yards to boot.

Summit (5-4) will get a week’s rest before finishing the season at region foe Lincoln Co. on Oct. 26, while Centennial (3-6) will get a break before closing the season at Brentwood.
