Nic Cotton, son of Venta Cotton, is a senior at Renaissance High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He loves snowboarding and entertaining people. Of his accomplishments, he said that his discipline in being on track for what he wants to do in the future is what he is most proud of.
His favorite class is Audio Production because he said that what he learns in class is practical for what he wants to do in the future.
Paula Wolak, Cotton’s Audio Production teacher said of him, “Nick is the greatest! This year, his senior year, he displays maturity and a willingness to do what it takes to get things done. Nick is the type of student you can rely on to help out and to be there when you need him. He is loyal and grounded and a positive influence in the classroom; the type of student you’d want to keep around!”
One of his biggest role models and inspirations is Burnie Burns, a prominent business owner.
“He is a co-owner of a major company that does many different things, yet they all remain successful,” Cotton said.
After finishing at Renaissance, he plans to go to Full Sail University to receive an Art and Creative Writing degree. After finishing his degree, he would like to pursue a career creating video games.
