Fisher Anderson, son of Teri and Stewart Anderson, is a freshman at Franklin High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He is a member of the football, basketball and track & field teams at FHS. Outside of sports, Anderson said music is one of his biggest passions. He said he is listening to music most of the time.
Of his accomplishments, he said being lettered as a freshman in football and setting a new county record in discus are the two he is most proud of.
His favorite teacher at FHS is Coach Webb, the Lifetime Wellness teacher. He said appreciates how well he teaches the subject.
One of his biggest inspirations and role models is professional football player Tim Tebow. He said he looks up to him for his ability to still represent Christ while being a very famous public figure.
Reginia Guess, one of FHS’s school counselors said of Anderson, “I am nominating Fisher because he exampled compassionate peer support. When Fisher noticed in Wellness that a peer was emotionally upset, but the peer did not want to talk about what was going on, Fisher chose to quietly sit with the peer from a non-intrusive distance, but close enough that the peer knew Fisher was there if needed. Compassion, considerate behavior is key to leadership.”
Although he is only a freshman, Anderson said he plans to go to college where he hopes to continue playing football or basketball.
