Virginia Jordan, daughter of Anita and Dalton Jordan, is a freshman at Franklin High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the school’s orchestra and said that learning and playing music are her biggest passions.
“I enjoy music because you can express emotions in a new way, and I love learning because it is fun to know a variety of things,” she said.
Jordan has received the Silver Apple Award, bronze and silver Girl Scout awards, Orchestra Award, Science Award and has been on the Honor Roll for five years.
Her favorite class at FHS is Biology.
She said, “It is always interesting and my teacher always has a unique story to go with it.”
One of her biggest role models is her grandmother. She said she looks up to her because of her dependability and kindness that she shows everyone she meets.
One of Jordan’s teachers, Cassandra Brosvik, said of her, “She is always prepared for class and works very hard every day to play her best in orchestra. She leads the bass section of the orchestra with grace and humility.”
Although she is only a freshman, she said she hopes to attend Vanderbilt University to study Hematology and Cardiology. She once day plans to become a doctor or lab technician.
