Emma Shavers, daughter of Chris and Amy Shavers, is a junior at Fairview High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the National Art Honors Society and the BETA Club. Since her freshman year, Shavers has been in the top 10 percent of her class.
One of her biggest passions is traveling. She said,”… it inspires me to try new things, get out of my comfort zone, and grow.”
Shavers said that her favorite class is English. She said it really allows her to be creative and push herself, two things she really values.
One of Shavers’ teachers, Lori DiCiaula, said of her, “Emma is one of the hardest working students I’ve had the pleasure to work with. She is consistently prepared, organized and engaged. Emma is also an inspired and talented writer across multiple genres, and she has a kindness and patience unlike any other.”
Shavers said that her mother, Amy, is one of her biggest inspirations and role models.
“She is such a hard worker and is a loving and courageous person,” she said.
After graduating from FVHS, she said that she plans to go to college and eventually find a career she is passionate about.
