Grace Huntress, daughter of Steve and Carol Huntress, is a Transition II student at Fairview High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She enjoys doing gymnastics, swimming, cooking, traveling, and competing in the Special Olympics.
Reading books and Thomas the Train are just a few of her passions. This year, she was voted “Most Joyful” in Transition II, an achievement she is very proud of.
Her favorite teacher is Miss Chelsea. “She is fun and helps me at work,” Huntress said.
Her top role model is her mother, Carol. “She is my best friend and I want to be like her when I get older,” she said.
One of her teachers said of her, “Grace is such a joy to have in class! She comes every day with such a positive attitude and happy spirit. She looks forward to community-based instruction and her job site every week, and works hard to help GraceWorks and its shoppers. Grace is a great friend to each of her classmates, and her kindness truly brightens our days. She continually shows progress and growth towards independence.”
After graduating from Fairview High, she hopes to go to Brightstone to continue her learning and further her involvement in the community.
