Tyler Barnard, son of Sara Bennett and James Barnard, is a senior at Fairview High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He is a member of the soccer team, HOSA, and Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG.) In each, he has received honors. He has won multiple soccer tournaments and was selected to attend the JAG conference. He has also repeatedly made the Honor Roll.
One of his biggest passions is his job as a nursing assistant at NHC Healthcare. “I enjoy caring for them and learning about their lives,” he said.
His favorite class at Fairview High is Honors Rehabilitation. “We get a lot of hands on experience and it’s expanding my knowledge on a topic I am very passionate about.”
Barnard’s top role model is his mother, Sara. He said of her, “She raised four children while working two jobs and always had time to come watch me play sports and help me with school work.”
After graduating from FVHS this spring, he plans to attend Nashville State Community College to get his bachelor’s degree. Then, he would like to transfer to Belmont to get his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree so that he can become a Nurse Practitioner.
