Ilsa Person, daughter of Edward and Valarie Person, is a senior at Fairview High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is the Drum Major of the Sound of Gold Marching Band, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and on the editorial staff of the school newspaper.
Of her recent accomplishments, Person said that being chosen Drum Major for the marching band and being accepted to her number one college, Union University, are two things that have made her the proud
She said that one of her biggest passions is her faith. She said, “my relationship with Christ is the most important thing to me. Without him, I would not be who I am today.”
Her favorite class at FVHS is the Jobs for Tennessee Graduates class. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Parsons.
Her grandmother, Ruby Buttrey, is one of her biggest role models and heroes.
“She has the kindest, most giving personality,” she said. “She is brave and smart.”
After graduating, Person will attend Union University to pursue a major in Theology and Missions. She plans to enter a career field where she will help and serve others.
