STUDENT OF THE WEEK: Battle Ground Academy

Jake Brown

Junior

Jake Brown, son of Jef and Molly Brown, is a junior at Battle Ground Academy and this week’s Student of the Week.

He is a member of Youth Leadership Brentwood, Young Life, the wrestling and baseball teams and is a mascot for BGA. He is also the co-founder and Vice President of Young Republicans and a Linguistics Cohort.

He is also involved with Di Gamma National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Of his accomplishments, he said he is most proud of making High Honor Roll and being a Board of Trust Merit Scholarship recipient. He also has achieved multiple places in linguistics and Junior Classical League Competitions as well as multiple wrestling honors.

His biggest role model is his father, Jef. “He has worked extremely hard for everything that he and the rest of my family have,” Brown said. “It is a direct result of his hard work and determination that I have opportunities that are unavailable to many.”

Brown said that Statistics is his favorite class at BGA. “I have always been a numbers guy,” he said. “Numbers just make sense to me and in the future, I would like to enter a career that would use mathematics or statistics.”

After graduating from BGA, he plans to go to college to pursue a degree in Statistics or Economics.
