Jad Diab, son of Labeed and Sanaa Diab, is a junior at Battle Ground Academy and this week’s Student of the Week.
He is a member of the soccer team, football team, Student Council, Full Circle. 1 Team 1 Goal, and Model United Nations.
One of his biggest passions is serving others. He said that his work with Full Circle and 1 Team 1 Goal have given him a sense of purpose because he is working for something larger than himself.
He said that his father is one of his top role models. “Since I was a kid, he laid the precedent for how I should live my life full of respect and generosity as well as instill a work ethic within me.”
His favorite class at BGA is AP Language and Composition with Ms. Handelsman. “Discussing broad themes and topics written by influential people whose message still carries relevance in today’s world is fascinating. [It] gives me insight to perspectives I would never have known just by reading and talking about the pieces she assigns.
One of Diab’s teachers said, “Jad has been a fantastic contributor to our community at the Academy. He invests his time and energy into a variety of extracurricular actives and has been a productive member of our Student Council.”
After graduating from BGA next year, he plans to attend college to pursue a career in Business or Finance.
