Christina Conrady, daughter of Kimberly and Stefan Conrady, is a junior at Battle Ground Academy and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is involved in several activities and organizations including Thespian Society, French Club, BGA Theatre, National Honor Society, Digamma and BGA Artist Guild. She also loves playing the piano and teaches Sunday school.
Conrady is a BGA Merit Scholarship Recipient, won first place at regionals for National History Day, came in third at the Middle TN Regional Art Exhibit and won the Mary Cambell Easel Award.
Her biggest passion is the arts and all that comes with it, whether it be fine arts, music or theater.
“I love the arts because they are both beautiful and thought provoking and provide, for me, a way to express myself,” she said.
Her favorite class is AP English Language. She said she has really enjoyed everything they have read so far and has found the nonfiction essays “fascinating.”
“With each new essay we read, we are opened up to new ideas and a different perspective on life,” she said.
One of her biggest influences and role models is her father, Stefan.
“He grew up in Germany, learning English as a second language at school. After college, he moved to the US. He is now completely bilingual and has started his own successful company,” Conrady said. “I find his intelligence and determination inspiring and strive to experience and immerse myself in different countries cultures in the same way he did.”
After finishing at BGA, she plans to attend college to pursue a career in nursing. She said, “I want to be able to help others and make a difference in peoples’ lives.”
