SPRING FLING: CPA soccer advances to state finals, BGA, Fairview soccer end seasons

Below are updates from the Spring Fling soccer tournaments. 

Christ Presbyterian Academy rides lone goal to get to state title game 

CPA only needed an early goal from John Michael Ritchie to make it to the D-II A state title game.

The team got a 1-0 win against Lausanne Wednesday afternoon in the semifinals at Siegel Soccer Complex.

Lions goalie Brown Myers made five saves in the semifinals game. The team led Lausanne with shots 18-7.

They’ll square off against ECS Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at MTSU’s Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium for the championship.

Battle Ground Academy falls to ECS in semis round

Though, a lone goal wouldn’t cut it for the BGA Wildcats, who lost their D-II A semis game 4-1 to ECS Wednesday at Siegel.

Robby Labe got the tally for BGA.

Fairview shut out by Greeneville in Class AA semis 

Fairview’s season came to a close in a 2-0 loss to Greeneville Wednesday at Siegel.

They led the Yellow Jackets in shots 17-11 in the contest.
