Sheriff will field more deputies for holidays to stem impaired and irresponsible driving

Extra Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies will be on patrol beginning Friday, December 21, 2018, through New Year’s Day.

They will be working to get distracted and impaired drivers off the road.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is urging everyone to drive safely and responsibly in order to assure a safe and happy holiday season for all.

If you are out celebrating with alcohol, the department is urging that you use a designated driver.

In addition, the agency is encouraging drivers to exercise patience when they drive because there will be more traffic during the holiday period and people will be in a rush to get to their destinations. Seatbelt use also is encouraged for drivers and passengers, even for those traveling a short distance.

These efforts to stop impaired and irresponsible driving are paid for with grant money from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
