Clothing under $100 per item, school supplies under $100 per item, and computers under $1,500 are tax free this weekend. The tax holiday is not just for students. Anyone can purchase eligible items tax free.
CoolSprings Galleria will remain open for extended hours during the tax holiday to accomodate the increased number of shoppers. Friday and Saturday, the mall will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 7 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for shoppers to take advantage and save even more while they shop for all of their back to school essentials,” said Dana Katterjohn, Regional Marketing Director for CBL & Associates Properties. “Many stores are also hosting sales and providing special offers to entice shoppers in addition to the sales tax discount.”
Also at CoolSprings Galleria, the Williamson County Schools Bring Your Own Technology initiative kiosk is available to answer questions during the tax holiday. The kiosk is located on the mall’s first floor between the Dell kiosk and the Apple Store. (Click here for full story)
Some local retailers are not waiting until Friday to begin their tax-free weekend. Electronic Express in Brentwood increased their stock and stopped charging sales tax on eligible items Tuesday. The store said laptops have been its biggest sellers so far this week.
