Polo is back on Sunday at the Tractor Supply Co. Arena, when Franklin squares off against Nashvhille.
A perfect Sunday afternoon greeted patrons at the second arena polo match of the October series last week, where South Africa won 9 goals to 7 over the U.S. team in an exciting rematch of the spring game.
Gates open this Sunday at 11:45 p.m. with the first ball dropped at 12:30 p.m. General admission tickets are only $10, and kids 10 and under get in free.
“We want to introduce this wonderful sport and the joy of horses to the public, and this is a great way to do it. It’s an affordable, fun Sunday, and the game is thrilling to watch,” said Franklin Polo Academy Director James Armstrong. “We have great food and drink and plenty for the kids to do. The weather should be perfect again this weekend.”
Local polo talent will be showcased in the Franklin vs. Nashville match. Representing Franklin Polo Academy are Jamey Parker, Geoffrey Woodward and Matt Schwartz, while the Nashville team will include Bill Able, Zulu Scott-Barnes and nationally ranked female rider Alli Henderson.
“Anyone who has been to a match this year will tell you that these players and horses are extremely talented, and we’re fortunate to have them in our community,” Armstrong said. “For spectators, that means we’re assured a really intense, competitive event.”
Tractor Supply Co. Arena is part of The Park at Harlinsdale Farm north of downtown Franklin.
VIP Cabanas, including bar service and gourmet catering by Suzette, is available through Franklin Polo Academy. Please contact Armstrong at 615-800- 2268 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and visit www.franklinpolo.com for more information.
