Nashville Restaurant Week is Jan. 21-27, offering incentives for diners to support the independent restaurant community and celebrate its wide array of culinary talents.
Nashville Originals, established in 2006, is an independent restaurant association of about 60 member restaurants committed to sustaining Music City’s diverse dining culture. In addition to noteworthy restaurants all over Nashville, Nashville Originals also represents Brentwood and Franklin restaurants Brick’s Cafe, Bunganut Pig, Mere Bulles, Puckett’s Boat House, Puckett’s Gro. and Restaurant, Scout’s Pub and Sopapillas.
The organization has built Nashville Restaurant Week into a wintertime tradition, as the special occasion allows participants to explore all elements of Nashville’s renowned food scene, including the upscale member restaurants that offer competitive pricing exclusively during this event.
“Nashville Restaurant Week is significant, because it promotes homegrown restaurants that make our city unique and encourages diners to eat locally,” said Craig Clifft, president of Nashville Originals and co-owner of Cabana. “Nashville’s food scene has experienced rapid expansion in recent years, with more than 100 restaurants opening in 2018 alone. Our organization and this week-long event aim to recognize and promote support for the indepently owned and operated restaurants, whether that’s a beloved stalwart or an up-and-coming Nashville favorite.”
Suzy Wong’s House of Yum, located on Church Street in Downtown Nashville, will feature a three-course menu for $20.19. Diners will be able to select among appetizer options of vegetable spring rolls, wasabi deviled eggs or chicken satay. Entrée options include black pepper chicken, kung pao shrimp, teriyaki vegetable stir fry with tofu and Mongolian beef. The choice of Chinese donuts or chocolate peanut butter spring rolls round out the meal.
Flyte World Dining & Wine on Division Street will offer a three-course menu for $35.19. The first course consists of walnut pesto and roast cauliflower soup; a petite wedge salad with Gifford’s bacon, Cruze buttermilk dressing, tomato and blue cheese; or beef and pork meatballs. For the main course, Restaurant Week diners can choose from grilled salmon with jasmine rice, haricot verts and sesame peanut sauce; chicken paillard with cornbread pudding, Brussels sprouts and cranberry gastrique; or braised beef short rib with potato puree, glazed carrots and jus. As the cherry on top, dessert options include a lemon tart, chocolate cake and white chocolate panna cotta.
Downtown Franklin’s Main Street Southern seafood eatery, Puckett’s Boat House, will offer a four-course menu with three varying prices, depending on the diner’s choice of entree. The main course consists of peppercorn sirloin with au poivre sauce, mashed potatoes and charred vegetables; blackened redfish with chili butter, street corn couscous and charred vegetables; or Cajun shrimp Alfredo served with toast points, priced at $34, $29 and $24, respectively. Each meal also includes a soup or salad, the Boat House’s famous Nashville hot fried oysters, and carrot cake or Hattie Jane’s ice cream, along with wine pairings available à la carte.
