Music Country Grand Prix showcases equestrian athletes, helps SaddleUp! program

David Jennings, riding Caddie R. Terrific, was the champion on June 1 at the 2019 Music Country Grand Prix, held at Brownland Farm in Franklin on behalf of Saddle Up!, a locally based nonprofit that offers therapeutic horseback riding programs for disabled young people.

The crown is the second in the event for Jennings, who also was champion in 2016.

The event is Middle Tennessee’s premier Olympic-style equestrian jumping competition, and was co-chaired by Jennifer Pennington and Sarah Ingram.

Brownland Farm is off Hillsboro Road, just north of the Harpeth River and the Mack Hatcher extension construction site.

This was the 31st annual Music Country Grand Prix, once again presented by Tractor Supply Company.

Saddle Up! is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides therapeutic riding programs including Adaptive Riding, Therapy Services (including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy), Advanced Rider Equestrian Club, and Equine Assisted Learning, Interactive Vaulting, and Alumni Transitions Program.
