Monthly program teaches kids about Civil War life

Franklin Home Page news reports The Battle of Franklin Trust will hold a monthly program at The Carter House or Carnton Plantation to help children experience different aspects of Civil War life.

The Battle of Franklin Trust is ow hosting monthly programs at The Carter House or Carnton Plantation to help children experience different aspects of Civil War life.

Each class will focus on a specific area of one of the historic sites and may include a story, craft, or hands-on project.

Parents must RSVP for these events at least 24 hours ahead of time.  All events are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The monthly programs continue through December 15.  The programs will cover a variety of topics, from Civil War era attire to antique toys to Christmas in the 1860s.  For a full list of events and prices, click here.
