Franklin police arrested a shoplifting suspect who reportedly rammed his vehicle into a Franklin police patrol car in an attempt to flee authorities.

The suspect, 19 year-old Anthony Gifford Jr., reportedly stole $4,500 worth of merchandise from the CoolSprings Galleria Macy’s before making his way to his vehicle with three other suspects. Police say that after they attempted to stop the car, Gifford intentionally rammed their patrol car before fleeing the scene.

Police were able to arrest one of the suspects who escaped after the theft, 20 year-old Tyasia Butler, on Wednesday. She has since been released after posting the $6,500 bond. Butler’s court date is scheduled for December 27.

Police described the vehicle’s color as silver, and said it could possibly be a Honda Civic.

Police are still seeking information on two other female suspects featured in the video below.
