The Brentwood Library is accepting gently used clothing donations for Operation Stand Down Tennessee, a nonprofit that helps veterans in our area.

For the remainder of this month, the Library’s Environmental Committee is collecting gently used winter clothing for the nonprofit. There is a collection bin in the outer lobby of the Library.

Operation Stand Down Tennessee is the only veteran service center in Tennessee recognized by the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and serving veterans their sole focus.

It began in 1993 as a coalition of volunteers and organizations who came together to provide outreach and services to Nashville’s homeless veteran population, and is now a recognized nonprofit that works to serve thousands of veterans across the state.
