FRANKLIN BAND BOOSTERS
Rep. Brandon Ogles was at his alma mater recently to present a proclamation from the Tennessee General Assembly to the award-winning Franklin High School Band.
The proclamation, recognizing the band’s successful 2018 marching season, was sponsored by Tennessee Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson, House Speaker Glen Casada of the 63rd House District, Rep. Sam Whitson of the 65th House District, and Ogles , who represents the 61st House District.
Ogles was assisted by his wife, Grace, in presenting the proclamation.
The document states in part that “the young men and women of The Franklin Band performed in sterling fashion throughout their season” and “as a result of its continued dedication to the highest standards of musical and marching performance, The Franklin Band serves as the golden standard in the State of Tennessee, and each one of these young women and men should be recognized for their commitment and hard work.”
The Franklin Band was named Tennessee State Marching Band Champion and Grand Champion at the 56th Annual Contest of Champions at MTSU in October. In November, the band advanced to semi-finals at the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championship and finished 17th in the nation with their performance.
