Justin Kanew, Democratic nominee for Congress (District 7), will take his campaign to a different high school football game in the district each week as part of his ‘Friday Night Lights’ voter outreach campaign.
Kanew kicks off the events this Friday at the Lawrence County vs. Giles County Cowbell Game, to be played at Lawrence County High School in Lawrenceburg. The game is a traditional – and hotly-contested – rivalry.
“I’m a huge football fan, like most Tennesseans,” said Kanew. “Nothing brings us together as Americans better than football, especially in this hyper-partisan political client.”
“High school football is such a huge part of our life each fall, and I’m looking forward to seeing kids and their parents on the sidelines as part of our campaign,” Kanew added. “And of course, it’s a great excuse to watch some great games under the Friday Night Lights and support our kids.”
Every Tuesday during the football season the campaign will announce which game Kanew and crew will be attending.
Each Game of the Week will include a tailgate party, voter registration, and the opportunity for current voters to learn more about Kanew’s congressional campaign.
Everyone is invited, regardless of party affiliation.
