John Oates, half of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo Hall and Oates, will headline a fundraising event for District 7 Democratic congressional candidate Justin Kanew this Thursday, October 18, at UAW Local 1853 in Spring Hill.
Other performers include Franklin resident Walter Egan (“Magnet and Steel,) country songwriter and musician Bill Lloyd, the Sisters Mann, and guitarist Todd Sharp, who has toured with Rod Stewart, Bonnie Raitt, and Eric Clapton, among others.
“What a great way to kick off the last lap of our 16-month campaign,” Kanew said. “I’m honored these musicians would take time to donate their talents to help us raise money for this final campaign stretch. We’re going to be talking to voters till the polls close on November 6 and appreciate all the help we get.”
Hall and Oates had a long string of Top 40 hit songs, primarily in the 1980s, including “Maneater,” “Rich Girl,” “Kiss on my List” and “Private Eyes.”
Tickets to the event, which also include food and drink, are $50 each and may be purchased online at through Kanew’s Facebook page or directly at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/springhill.
The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at UAW Local 1853 Banquet Hall, 125 Stephen P. Yokich Pkwy., Spring Hill.
