Ashley Blake, daughter of Tina and David Blake, is our Jet’s Pizza Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Page High School and a member of the varsity cheer team.
She started gymnastics at the age of three. When her family moved to Tennessee in 2007, her mom got her interested in cheering and she decided to try it out. She’s been doing it ever since.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “My team inspires me because they always push me to do my best and encourage me nonstop.”
Her biggest role model is her mother, Tina.
“She has always shown me how to be the best I can be and has helped me overcome so many obstacles,” Blake said.
PHS cheer coach, Lisa Clanton said of Blake, “[She] has overcome an injury this past year and has come one of the best cheerleaders that I have coached…. her leadership has been great! This is a well deserved honor!”
After graduating from PHS, she plans to attend Western Kentucky University to pursue a career in nursing and continue cheering.
