JET’S PIZZA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Page High School

Drew Kalman

Senior

Drew Kalman, daughter of Daniel and Jennifer Kalman, is our Jet’s Pizza Athlete of the Week.

She is a senior at Page High School and and a member of the varsity girls volleyball team. She plays the position of middle hitter.

This season, she led the team in blocks in the district tournament with 17 total blocks in two games.

She got her start in volleyball at age 10 through the encouragement of her sister, who also played.

When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “How I can become better and better with every practice and every game.”

One of her biggest role models and inspirations is her sister, Jordan.

“She pushes me and picks me up when I’m at my worst,” she said.

PHS volleyball coach, Rick Hess said of Kalman:

[She] had an amazing year at Page. She has grown her game in numerous ways. Her biggest gain came with her blocking, with 142 blocks on the season… she will be missed here at Page on and off the court. She is such a leader and brings constant energy and emotion to each game… I am so proud of all her hard work.

After graduating from Page, she plans to continue her volleyball and educational career at Rhodes College. She would like to major in psychology.
