Ethan Kefauver, son of Matt and Tracy Kefauver, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza male Athlete of the Week.
He is a sophomore at Page High School and a member of the baseball team. He is the pitcher for the team and has pitched 10.1 innings with 11 strikeouts. He currently has a 1-0 record.
Kefauver started playing baseball at the age of five. He said that he and a few friends decided to join a recreational league and he has loved it since he began.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “All my family and coaches who have worked so hard to put me in the best position to succeed.”
One of his biggest inspirations and role models is Major League Baseball player Albert Pujols.
“He is very humble and religious while succeeding at the highest level,” he said.
PHS Baseball Coach Kenny Roeten said of Kefauver, “Ethan has shown a great deal of maturity at a young age and has competed in every appearance. He has easily been one of our best pitchers in the early part of the season.”
After graduating from PHS in a couple of years, Kefauver plans to continue his baseball career in college.
