Jets Pizza is the sponsor of Franklin Athlete of the Week and is awarding each athlete of the week with one large one topping pizza.
Toriann “Tori” Terry
Tori Terry, daughter of Billy and Ricki Terry, is a senior at Franklin High School and a member of the Franklin High School softball team.
She has a batting average of 0.25 and an on-base percentage of 0.345.
She was introduced to the sport because of her mother.
“My mom put me into T-ball at the age of four because she is obsessed with the game.” She stuck with it when she was young and by age 10, she said she really loved the game.
Her favorite part of the sport is base running.
“It’s a lot of fun to be out there messing with the other players,” she said.
Terry is inspired to work hard and compete because of her dedication to her coach.
“I want to give my best out on the field for Coach. She is always pushing us to be better than we were yesterday. I work hard to make her proud out there,” she said.
Terry looks up to her mother as a role model.
“Even when I get frustrated with how things are going, she is always there to keep me in check and encourage me to always be a leader and to have a good attitude,” she said of her mom.
She describes herself as competitive. Elaborating, she said, “I’m constantly trying to win. I want to be the best I can out there for the people who support me and for my team and I just want to win.”
Terry plans to attend Austin Peay State University and major in nursing.
