JET’S PIZZA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Franklin High School

Harper White

Junior

Harper White, daughter of Christine and Terry White, is our Jet’s Pizza Female Athlete of the Week.

She is a junior at Franklin High School and a member of the varsity girls soccer team. She plays the position of attacking midfield for the team and was named District MVP.

Growing up, White watched as her sister played soccer and eventually decided to follow in her footsteps by joining a recreational team. She has been playing ever since.

When asked what inspires her to train and compete, she said that ”the motivation of getting to play soccer and becoming a better player” is what keeps her pushing forward.

FHS girls soccer coach, Mike Burgoyne said, “She is an extremely talented player that changes the dynamics of the game no matter where she is on the field. Harper has been asked to play as a center back, holding and attacking midfielder and as a striker. She can play any position on the field at a high level.”

One of her biggest influences and role models is her older sister, Chesney.

“She played college soccer and worked really hard and I want to follow in her footsteps,” White said.

After finishing high school next year, she will attend Clemson University, where she is committed to playing soccer. She would like to pursue a career in nursing.
