Maddie Ash, daughter of Erin and Jeff Ash, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Franklin High School and a member of the varsity girls soccer team. She plays the positions of center forward and attacking center mid.
This season, she has scored 11 goals in 11 games.
She started playing soccer when she was only four years old in a rec league. She said she loved it immediately.
When asked what inspires her to continue playing and training she said, “The desire to get better by pushing myself harder at each practice.”
Lady Rebels Soccer Coach, Michael Burgoyne, said of Ash:
Maddie is a senior and two-time captain for the Lady Rebels. Maddie has scored 11 goals and has 1 assist in 11 games played this season. She was named to the District 12-AAA District Team for 2017 and 2018. Maddie excels on and off the field. She currently has a 4.5 GPA and volunteers for Best Buddies and Habitat for Humanity. She also stays busy with National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, Art and Sports Medicine Clubs.
Maddie has been an exemplary role model for younger players. She embodies everything the school should expect from a student athlete. She has been an asset to the Lady Rebel Soccer program. We are excited to see what the future holds in college and beyond for Maddie.
After graduating from FHS this year, Ash plans to attend college to continue her soccer career and pursue a pre-med degree.
