Caroline Coady, daughter of Lori and Kevin Coady, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Franklin High School and a member of the varsity girls Track & Field team. She has broken the school record for girls in the 4×1, 4×4 and 4×8. Her record time for the 400-meter race is 1:00.76.
Coady was previously a soccer player, but said that she decided not to take on her spring season, which gave her a chance to take on track.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “I want to win a state title before I graduate high school.”
Coady said that her biggest role models and supporters are her family members: mom, dad, sister and brother.
“They have been my biggest supporters my entire life and I couldn’t be more grateful,” she said.
FHS Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach Cormac Carolan said of Coady, “Caroline has had a stellar first season for FHS. She runs on both the 4×4 and 4×8 teams that have set school records. Her hard work and passion for racing have led to a successful season and will set her up for a fast finish in her final weeks.”
After graduating from FHS this year, she is planning to attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She would like to pursue a career in veterinary practices.
