Jets Pizza is the sponsor of Franklin Athlete of the Week and is awarding each athlete of the week with one large one topping pizza.
Logan Guidera, son of Tony Guidera and Kelly Kanski, is a Franklin High School senior and a member of the school’s track team.
Guidera runs the varsity 300mH, 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay, and the 200m dash.
His times are impressive from running the 300mH in 40.97 seconds to running the 200m dash in only 23.10 seconds. The 300 hurdle is his favorite to run.
He began running track his eighth-grade year when he also tried out for soccer and did not make it.
“I didn’t make the soccer team, so I was like ‘Hey I should do track.’”
He liked it as soon as he started saying, “the rest is history after that.”
In competing and training, he looks to his team, family, and friends for motivation.
“My team and relay members push me to my greatest potential along with the amazing support,” he said.
His role model is Brent Pentenburg, his uncle. He said he was the first person to get him interested in sports.
“He did every sport he could in high school. He’s been my role model since I was a kid.”
In the fall, Guidera plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he will major in architecture and minor in business management.
