Phoebe Brown, daughter of Peter and Christie Browne, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza Female Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Franklin High School and a member of the swim team. She has been a Rebel MVP for three years, is the team record holder in the 100 breaststroke and was a Regional and State qualifier for four years, among other things.
She started swimming at the young age of five. She said that in her family, everyone picked a sport to do and she picked swimming and decided to stick with it.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “Every day in practice I just think of wanting to be better than everyone else at what I do and hope to reach Olympic level.”
One of her biggest influences and role models is her brother, Ethan.
“He was very determined and worked very hard,” she said.
Franklin High’s head swim coach said of her, “Phoebe is a fierce competitor, strong, determined and courageous. She is also a scholar, a big sister, funny, has tremendous strength of character and is a beautiful young lady! I look forward to seeing all she accomplishes as a young adult and role model for younger athletes.”
After graduating from FHS this year, she plans to swim at a Division I college. She would like to pursue a career as a marine biologist or veterinarian.
