Jacob Schoeff, son of Tyson and Katherine Schoeff, is our Jet’s Pizza Male Athlete of the Week.
He is a senior at Franklin High School and a member of the wrestling team. He is in the 170 pound weight class and has a season record of 23-5.
He started wrestling due to his father’s influence. He said his dad has “always loved wrestling and encouraged” him to participate.
One aspect of the sport that keeps Schoeff motivated and moving forward is the chance to compete against those who have reached levels higher than himself. He wants to be a strong opponent to those who are better than him.
One of his biggest role models and inspirations is fellow FHS wrestler, Stone Page.
“His relentless dedication and work ethic have led him to success in that which he has aspired to succeed in,” Schoeff said.
FHS wrestling coach said of him, “Jacob truly turned into the team leader I knew he would become his senior year. [He] has emerged as the ‘lead by example’ type of captain of the wrestling team. He has been doing everything right this season… from his eating habits, practice intensity, mentoring of younger athletes to his lifestyle off the mat. I am so proud.”
After finishing at FHS this year, Schoeff plans to attend The University of Mississippi and enroll in the center for manufacturing excellence program. He would eventually like to pursue a career in personal relations as well as recruiting for a consulting firm.
