Alex Wall, son of Ivette Matos-Wall and Tony Wall, is our Jet’s Pizza Male Athlete of the Week.
He is a junior at Centennial High School and a member of the football team. He plays the position of tight end.
Among other highlights, Wall is proud that he has achieved a record of 12.5 yards per catch.
Wall began playing football after watching his brother play the sport. He said that he knew that he wanted to follow in his brother’s footsteps. So that is exactly what he did.
It comes as little surprise that Wall’s biggest role model and inspiration is his older brother. He said, “He worked hard every day to be who he was.” Wall carries this sense of authenticity with him on and off the field.
When he thinks about why he is so motivated to train and compete, he says that it is due to his desire to be number one. He wants to be the best at what he does.
Centennial High School football coach, Deldrick Brewer said of Wall, “Alex is a young man of action and great example of a true leader. A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.”
After graduating from Centennial High in 2019, Wall plans to go to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
