Senior/ Transition II
William Gawlas, son of Eric Gardner and Stacey Gardner, is a senior and Transition II student at Centennial High School and our Jet’s Pizza Male Athlete of the Week.
He is a Special Olympic athlete and competes on the bowling team. At the most recent Special Olympics bowling meet, he won a silver medal and a fourth place ribbon for his hard work.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “Because I can do this myself and it is fun to be with friends. I like to win.”
One of his biggest inspirations and role models is Jenn Beasley.
“I love her so much. She takes me to ballgames and to dinner. She tells me how to do things right. She helps me understand things,” Gawlas said.

William Gawlas has participates in Special Olympics for many years. His coaches have not only included his teachers and paraprofessionals, but also the coaches and athletes of various CHS sports. William prepared twice weekly… for this chance to bring home a medal from a state meet. And bring home a medal he did! CHS is so proud of William and his award!
After graduating, he plans to pursue a part time job with on-the-job training.
