Bradford Mills, son of Holly and Mike Mills, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza Athlete of the Week.
He is a senior at Centennial High School and a member of the varsity baseball team. This season, he has a batting average in the range of .500-.600.
Mills said he owes his interest in the sport to his father.
“He taught me everything… he’s the reason I play,” Mills said, adding, “also because I love the sport.”
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “to get better every day and to try and make my team better at the same time.”
His father Mike is his biggest role model as a father, but also as a baseball player.
“He made it to the minor leagues and knows exactly what he doing,” he said, “and he is a great role model.”
CHS Baseball coach Rob Baughman said of Mills:
Bradford Mills batted close to .600 in the first four games of the season. He has been a leader since we started off season work outs and is continuing it through our first four games. He pitched very well in his first outing this year, but did not get the win. Pitched great though. He is a hard worker and is doing a great job being a team leader for us!
Mills describes himself as a leader, focused, confident and honest.
After graduating from CHS this year, he plans to continue pursuing his baseball and academic careers in college.
