Taylor Tigue, daughter of Kim Tusing, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Battle Ground Academy and a member of the Varsity Girls Volleyball Team. She plays the position of setter for the team. Over the past four years in the sport, she has had over 1,000 assists. In 2016, the team was named the TSSAA Division 2 All-District Volleyball Team.
Tigue started playing volleyball when she moved to Tennessee at the age of 10. Her mother was her first coach. She also said her mother is one of her biggest role models for her motivating attitude. “She has pushed me to be the young woman I am today,” she said.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said she owes it all to her late father.
“My dad is always by my side even though he is gone and he keeps me motivated every single day,” she said.
After graduating from BGA this spring, she is committed to playing volleyball for Walter State University.
