Aaron Desmond, son of Mike and Jamie Desmond, is a junior at Battle Ground Academy and a member of the varsity swim team.
He competes in both the 50 and 100 freestyle.
This season, his biggest highlights were achieving a time of 24.2 seconds in the 50 freestyle and 54 seconds in the 100 freestyle.
Desmond said that he started swimming after a friend who was a swimmer encouraged him to try it.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete, he said that knowing he is so close to making state in the 50 meter freestyle pushes him to keep going.
One of his biggest role models and inspirations is P.K. Subban, a professional hockey player for the Nashville Predators. He said he looks up to him because of his work with charities and how hard working he is.
After graduating from BGA next year, he plans to attend The University of Tennessee at Knoxville to pursue a degree in architecture.
