Ally Solomon, daughter of Lisa and Marc Solomon, is our Jet’s Pizza Female Athlete of the Week.
She is a freshman at Battle Ground Academy and a member of the girls swim team.
This season, she qualified for the Southeastern Regional Championship and qualified for State. As a freshman, she said these are her biggest accomplishments thus far.
She got her start in swimming after moving to Tennessee and wanting to make new friends. She quickly ended up loving the sport.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “Qualifying for big meets and being proud of myself after a big race.”
One of her biggest role models and inspirations is her coach, Dan Powell.
“He had a terrible biking accident and came back with such power and tried his best to laugh it off,” Solomon said.
One of her coaches, Peter Browne said of Solomon, “Ally is a fierce competitor with a lot of potential. She is relatively new to this level of competition and training and if she continues to dedicate herself to the sport and improving, the ceiling is very high for her.”
Although only a freshman, Solomon has a set plan for the future after BGA. She plans to attend college. There, she said she would like to continue swimming and pursue a career as a surgeon.
