A Franklin man was arrested just after 4 p.m. Tuesday after witnesses say he struck a man with his truck, then kicked over the man’s motorcycle.
Franklin Police reported that they were summoned to the Twice Daily, on Berry Farms Crossing, following a road rage incident that started on I-65. The incident came to an end in the gas station parking lot after the suspect revved his engine and charged toward the victim in reverse, striking him with his truck. Witnesses report that the suspect then got out of his truck and kicked over the victim’s motorcycle.
William Jackson, 56, of Franklin, was ultimately arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment – a Class-E felony, and Vandalism. Free on the $6,000 bond set by the Magistrate, Jackson is due in court at 1 p.m. on March 21.
According to a press release from Franklin Police, drivers who turn their aggression into a violent encounter will not be tolerated. They advised anyone confronted with violence during a road rage encounter should protect themselves and family members by locking their doors and driving away from the danger while calling 9-1-1.
