Home Page Media Group is partnering with Williamson, Inc. Chamber of Commerce to create video interviews with all nine of the candidates for alderman in the upcoming election.
Williamson, Inc. president and chief executive officer Matt Largen said the partnership was important to the chamber’s mission to inform the business community.
“Leadership is critical to the continued success of Williamson County and the city of Franklin,” Largen said in a written correspondence. “It is our pleasure, and our responsibility, to partner with Home Page Media to help broadcast the views of people competing to be the next class of leaders.”
Kelly Gilfillan, the CEO and executive editor of the Home Page Media Group, said it was imperative to keep residents of Franklin informed about their city.
“We decided to try something new that would be convenient for our readers to watch and share with their fellow citizens,” Gilfillan said. “This is an important election because of the growth Franklin is facing, so we feel focusing on business and related issues will provide a unique perspective.”
Home Page Media Group’s managing editor Mark Cook said chamber members will provide questions about business concerns for the candidates.
“The Chamber has graciously agreed to host these candidate interviews, and contribute questions from a business perspective. We hope to hear from all the candidates so the voters can meet them all individually through these videos,” Cook said.
The half-hour, one-on-one video segments with the Home Page’s Franklin reporter, Brooke Wanser, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27 and Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Williamson, Inc. office. Resident questions for candidates are encouraged, and can be submitted to [email protected].
