The Battle of Franklin Trust is adding an exclusive look at the second floor of the historic home during its extended tour at The Carter House.
Visitors will be given a behind-the scenes look at this “unseen” area of one of Franklin’s most historic sites.
“This tour of The Carter House offers visitors a chance to see the second floor of the home, which has not been open to the public in more than 15 years,” said Eric Jacobson, CEO of The Battle of Franklin Trust. “Extended tours offer first-time visitors a comprehensive introduction to the Battle of Franklin and returning visitors with a unique and unforgettable experience.”
Extended tours at The Carter House will begin with a brief history of the site, followed up a comprehensive discussion of the battle. Guests will be taken through the family garden while exploring the agriculture history of the farm. The tour also includes a signification discussion about the impact of slavery in Tennessee and across the nation.
Extended tours of The Carter House are offered Monday – Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for all ages, and reservations are recommended. For more information and to make a reservation, please contact Meagan Wuest at 615-794-0903 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
