Heritage Foundation searching for Pumpkinfest volunteers

The Heritage Foundation is seeking 30 volunteers to cover various shifts during Franklin’s Pumpkinfest, which takes place on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Those who are interested in volunteering may contact Kristy Williams at the Heritage Foundation at 615-591-8500 extension 18. The full details as to how to volunteer are reprinted from the Heritage Foundation below:

If interested, prospective volunteers should respond by noon on Monday, Oct. 20. Positions will be filled on a first come, first served basis. A volunteer schedule will be emailed to all volunteers.

Pumpkinfest volunteer positions include:

Set Up-Help set up the Heritage Foundation booth on the Public Square and set up chairs in front of the stages on the Public Square and at Five Points. This may involve some heavy lifting, holding and climbing.

8:00 – 10:00 a.m. (2 volunteers; 2 at the booth and 0 to set up chairs)

Heritage Foundation Booth at Public Square -Sell souvenirs, answer festival attendees’ questions, run Lost & Found, etc.)

4 p.m. to 6:30 p. m. (2 Volunteers – includes helping to pack up)

The Great Pumpkin Tree-Sell pumpkins, help take photos and have overall knowledge of Pumpkinfest.

9:30 a.m. to 12 noon (1 Volunteer) (set up and serve)

2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (1 Volunteer) (serve and teardown, closing at 5 p.m. with 30 minutes extra for teardown)

Costume Contest Check in-Assist guests with signing up for contests at a table near the stage at City Hall

10 a.m. to Noon (0 Volunteers)

Noon to 2 p.m. (0 Volunteers)

Costume Contest Assistant-Help organize the costume contests and move participants to the right places at the right times, working under the direction of a Heritage Foundation staff member

2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (4 Volunteers)

Arts & Crafts Vendor Liaison-Monitor arts and crafts booths within a specified area to assist vendors with various needs, including booth sitting.

10 a.m. – Noon (1 volunteers)

Noon – 2 p.m. (3 volunteers)

2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (3 volunteers)

4 p.m. – 6 p.m. (3 volunteers)

Shuttle Stop Tent Assistant-Set up and take down pop up tents at each of two shuttle stop locations, one at 1st and Main and the other at 4th and Church.

9 – 9:30 a.m. (2 volunteers)

6 – 6:30 p.m. (2 volunteers)

Heritage Foundation Runner-Run errands for the staff as needed. May include driving your own vehicle.

Noon to 2 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

Stage Roadie-Assist with setting up & clearing the stages on the Public Square and at Five Points. May involve some heavy lifting.

8:45 – 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 (6 volunteers)

Intermittently between 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 (6 volunteers)

8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Five Points Stage (3 volunteers)

“Franklinstein” Bouncer-Keep an eye on the balloon Frankenstein to ensure against vandalism; offer to take photos for people who take advantage of the photo op.

10 a.m. to Noon (1 Volunteer)

Noon to 2 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

Great Pumpkin Kid Catcher-Assist families as they enjoy the Great Pumpkin on the Public Square. Make sure kids don’t fall off the pumpkin while parents take pictures.

10 a.m. to Noon (1 Volunteer)

Noon to 2 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (1 Volunteer)

Grave Matters Cemetery Tours (Cemetery tour ticket given to Grave Matters volunteers)

Assist with selling tickets and checking in people for tours at the historic cemeteries at 4th Ave. N. and North Margin. Light set up and clean up duties.

6:30 – 8 p.m. (1 volunteers)

8 – 9:30 p.m. (4 volunteers)
