Each had a round of 67 at the season-opening tournament. Brentwood Middle School sixth-grader Trenton Johnson shot a 65 to win, and BMS sixth-grader Drew Howard finished fourth at 71.

Sierra Stout, representing Christ Presbyterian Academy, won the girls tournament with a score of 67. Sunset Middle’s Ann Catherine Blackburn was first runner-up, shooting a 74.

The middle school season starts Aug. 21 and runs through Oct. 4 at Spencer Creek Golf Course. The Mayor’s Cup Championship will be held Sept. 11 and 13, and all signs indicate it’s going to be another battle between defending champs Grassland and Brentwood Middle.
