Grab your voting cards today for first early voting day

The Williamson County Election Commission wants to let voters know they can start casting their ballots this week for the upcoming early voting period for the Aug. 4, 2016, State Primary/County General Election.

Beginning on Friday in two locations — the Election Commission Office located at 1320 West Main Street in Franklin and the Brentwood Library located at 8109 Concord Road in Brentwood — the vote will be open.

Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The polls will be closed on Sundays.

In the last week of July, additional locations will open up for early voting. You can vote, starting on Monday, July 25, at the Fairview Recreation Center located at 2714 Fairview Boulevard, the Longview Recreation Center in Spring Hill located at 2909 Commonwealth Drive and the Nolensville Recreation Center, located at 7250 Nolensville Road

Hours at these locations will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Early voting will end on Saturday, July 30.

“Early voting is extremely popular with many of our voters because it allows some flexibility to those who may be unable to cast a ballot on Election Day,” said Chad Gray, Williamson County administrator of elections. “Please remember to bring your Tennessee state issued or your federal issued photo ID even if it is expired (unless exempt under the law) to vote.”

The deadline to register to vote for this election was Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Polls are open on Election Day, Aug. 4, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your designated Election Day polling place.
